Okay!
So I’ve queued enough posts to last all 40 days!
Anyways, as a note to people since I know some of them may do this.
For those of you that are gonna give something up but aren’t Catholic/don’t really believe in that stuff, please, before you do it, know that we give up something not to punish ourselves or because we have to, but because we are symbolizing what Jesus gave up for all of us: his life. The least we can do is give up something that we normally do. For some it may be a vice (overeating, wasting time, etc.), while for others, it may be a way to grow towards God by secluding oneself from normal functions (tumblr fast, facebook fast, etc.). For many, it’s a chance to find inner peace and try something new (giving up meat, giving up sweets).
Lent is a very religious season and it’s supposed to bring out the sprituality inherently within us.
I’m not gonna be a douchebag up here and say you CAN’T give anything up, I’m just saying that if you choose to jump the bandwagon and do give something up this Lenten season, know that it’s for a really religious reason.
I encourage everyone to try it, though. I think that by giving up something that usually makes up a large part of our lives, we will be able to discover more about ourselves and our own inner world/peace.
It’s up to you though.
Alright, cheers, leave me messages! :)
